Advancing Standards in AI-Driven Data Centre Infrastructure
Salute is proud to announce the appointment of Shane Fisher, Nathan Cook, and Caleb Feldbusch to ASHRAE’s Technical Committee 9.9, which plays a pivotal role in shaping the built environment for data centres and technology spaces.
As provisional members, Shane, Nathan, and Caleb- Iconicx’s Vice President for Commissioning, Director of Commissioning, and Program Manager- will serve two-year terms. During that time, they will participate in critical committee meetings and contribute to the development of new technical standards, a clear reflection of Salute and Iconicx’s shift toward becoming global standard-setting bodies.
Their involvement will also grant Salute early access to critical discussions around data center energy use, AI integration, and emerging cooling technologies. This will ultimately enable our team to inform global frameworks based on real-world insights gathered from the front lines of commissioning and operations. It’s exposure to novel challenges surrounding these new technologies that will position them as trusted advisors in discussions shaping the future of operational resilience, providing them with invaluable expertise

“Our early exposure to liquid cooling and AI-based deployments allows us to share data and perspectives that shape standards before they’re finalized.”
Shane Fisher, Vice President for Commissioning at Iconicx

“Provisional membership gives us access to the discussion and decisions that define how the industry evolves—especially as AI demands redefine infrastructure.”
Nathan Cook, Director of Commissioning at Iconicx

“The recognition confirms our status as contributors to an industry shift from theoretical to practical AI implementation, at a time when that’s most needed.”
Caleb Feldbusch, Program Manager at Iconicx
Their contributions will also help strengthen the committee’s engagement with fellow commissioning professionals- voices often underrepresented in discussions. As Salute’s leading the way in AI innovation across the data centre lifecycle, their involvement will ensure that client needs and field-tested realities are embedded into tomorrow’s global standards. From factory witness testing to performance validation, the mission-critical insights they will provide based on these experiences will prove invaluable.
In the same vein, by defining how next-generation systems are evaluated, Shane, Nathan, and Caleb will be well-positioned to collaborate on efforts that help future-proof infrastructure at scale. Their membership will reinforce Salute’s end-to-end service capabilities, from design through operations, signalling clear alignment with the standards and practices shaping the future of digital infrastructure.
This recognition affirms Salute’s role as a leader in technical excellence, whether for clients, partners, or peers, offering assurance that Salute is not only responding to rapid change but actively shaping it. As TC9.9 evolves to meet the demands of AI-scale workloads, Salute and Iconicx are well-positioned to help lead that evolution, bridging the gap between innovation, implementation, and impact.
