Salute Participates in the 2024 Patriots in Business Awards Ceremony
We are proud to have recently participated in the 2024 Patriots in Business Awards at the Nasdaq MarketSite in Times Square, New York City. Fittingly held on Veterans Day, the ceremony is one with which we are particularly familiar due to having won the same award last year. This year, our CEO, Erich Sanchack, and co-founder, Lee Kirby, served on the judging panel, which ultimately recognized Werner, USAA, First Command, RecruitMilitary, and Scrum Inc. for their outstanding contributions to the values of duty, honor, and country.
A Powerful Display of Support for Veterans at Nasdaq's Opening Bell Ceremony
The day commenced with the Nasdaq Opening Bell Ceremony, which paid tribute to veterans nationwide and boasted 20,000 attendees. It was a proud moment and an honor for Erich Sanchack, Salute’s CEO, and Joe Walker from New Mountain Capital, Salute’s new investors, to participate in this five-decade-old tradition. A particularly exciting part of the ceremony saw the Salute logo displayed on the iconic, 20ft high NASDAQ screen – a wonderful reminder of the fantastic work we have done over the past ten years, having employed over 4,000 military community members.
Championing Veteran Support Through Conversation and Action
In Erich Sanchack’s words…
“The value that our veterans bring to our business is their exceptional leadership skills, teamwork, and unique talents from their military experience. […] Events like these really do endorse the great work the data center sector has done to transition those veterans into the industry.”
Indeed, more than 250,000 job-seeking veterans transition out of active duty each year, many of whom struggle to find permanent employment despite their unique skill set. Events like this play a vital role in showcasing companies that sufficiently recognize those skills and promote meaningful opportunities.
